Who we are

Nuestras Tierras is a research and information site on Hispanic land ownership in Texas. It was founded by Roberto Montes, who grew up between Mexico and the United States, studied real estate finance at UTSA and works in the land business.

Why we do it

Almost all reliable information about land, property titles and inheritance in Texas is in English or written for lawyers. Many Hispanic families lose time, money and sometimes their land because they don't know how the system works here, which is very different from Mexico. We want to change that with clear, free information in Spanish.

How we work

Every guide cites the law or the official source. Guides on legal procedures are reviewed by a Texas-licensed attorney before they're considered final, and each page says so. When we make a mistake, we correct it and note the date.

We use AI tools to research and translate faster. A person reviews everything before it's published.

How we're funded

This project is funded by a young real estate enthusiast who grew up on both sides of the border and wants to inform his community.
